I’m sitting at the bar on a Saturday amusing get myself by posting here. Recently, some Oppos have been responding that I post too much and need to shut the fuck up, particularly when I get on a run after a little alcoholic lubrication. I have been accused of pushing others off the front page.

What say you Oppo, should I shut the fuck up or keep going?

If you don’t like it, I will respect the community. Unvarnished opinions welcome.

I dont mind the content of the posts. They are decent. Its just too many of them. Try limiting yourself to 3 posts a day

how exactly do you envision this going for you? either take the not-so-subtle hints others have given when you’ve asked similar questions or don’t, but making another post about it is pretty ironic.

I think that this is the kind of post that people don’t like, not much for content. Your other posts recently have been much better. I like having you around either way, the more Opponauts the better. Plus, the Sunchaser is pretty neat.

I’ve been here a long time, and IMHO I don’t see you doing anything different than any other new Opponaut when they start posting here. Sometimes I may think “hm, that guy posts a lot”, but that’s the end of it. I have no complaints.

TL;DR: I’m completely neutral.

You’re posting amount is fine. Most of us don’t give a shit, some people just don’t like being pushed off of the FP because they’re missing out on those sweet sweet internet stars. If they feel like they were pushed off, they can always share it back to FP.

No offense, but you’re being a little salty and agressive. He wanted to gauge the community’s opinion, so he made a post. Nothing wrong with that. It sure as hell is lot better than by “such and such car for sale” and “Shelby Cobra = Jesus + 2CV + Orgasm + Drugs + Dreams + Sound When Doves Cry” post.

I have seen him post something to the same effect before and then get extremely nasty (requiring mod intervention) toward anyone with any kind advice.

It is hilarious to me how any time I use punctuation that isn’t exclamation points and smileys and outright kid gloves, people think *I’m* being aggressive.

I don’t really care. As long as it’s remotely interesting I’ll probably click. I personally don’t post much. Sometimes I’ll post more than twice in a day (Lego porsche build) but that’s rare.

I don’t get the impression that you post any more by the numbers than many others here do (I mean, Zoidberg posts his Celica/dog/any other Toyota or gets baited 47 times a day and no one cares, and that Scoob guy, amirite? Hey-O!). Maybe you do them closer together at certain times of day so some get that impression? I’m not always around here evenings and weekends though so I might be wrong. You know what bugs the shit out of me though? Theme days. Most of them, at least.

Eh, these things are relative. I post a few times a month and that’s probably too much because my posts suck. Your posts mostly don’t suck so I’d say post away. When you’re posting just to be posting and you don’t really have anything to say that’s when you’re posting too much.

Maybe treat oppo less like your personal social media and morelike a place for car people. Generally speaking, no one gives a shit about recommendation stars. But let’s say I post something about cars to talk about. In the span of an hour you post three posts thathave very little to do with cars, if at all. So my post that I wanted to get some discussion on or feedback about has been knocked down by you posting multiple times in an hour about nothing. You run the risk of establishing a reputation.

ALso, side note - if you notice that it’s when you drink that you run into issues on here then you probably shouldn’t drink and post. Just my 2 cents. But all this assumes you’ll listen to a possibly contrary opinion and you’re not jut fishing for support that affirms what you want.

Post as much as you want at the end of the day it is your judgement call. Just remember sometimes people put time and effort into making a really good post and the it gets kicked off the FP quicker than they would like. They might have been hoping for a fun and upbeat discussion and instead got crickets.

This is basically just a forum. Post as much or as little as you want as long as it doesn’t border on spam. It isn’t like there are regulations that people have to read every thread on Oppo so I’m not sure why people would complain.

You came out of the shadows about the same time I did. I vaguely recall you did so for a similar reason I did- to participate in and contribute to a community you value. How you participate is up to you, but you’ve generally been excellent, so I hold no opinion on the frequency or content of your posts. You’re contributing in a positive manner, and that’s what counts to me.

My apologies; I didn’t realize that you had to talk to him before. I shouldn’t presume anything without knowing the circumstances; my apologies. However, if I may vouch for him for a second- in my expierence, ImmoralMinority’s posts have always been interesting and don’t really clog up the front page, but that’s just my opinion- I have seen some people who feel another user is posting too much get extremely salty and accusatory, which could have been where the nastiness came from.
